Scholarship Overview
The Southern California CSCMP Roundtable awards annual scholarships to students in the fields of logistics, manufacturing, supply chain, and analytics. While the total amount and number of scholarships varies, we’re committed to supporting the educational journey of future supply chain professionals.

Dave Evans Memorial Scholarship
This prestigious scholarship will always be available and awarded to one distinguished undergraduate or graduate student who demonstrates exceptional potential in the supply chain field.

Application Requirements
Submit the following three documents to complete your scholarship application.
Professional Resume
Submit a current, comprehensive resume that highlights:

Contact Information

Academic information: school, major, expected graduation date, GPA (if relevant), relevant coursework (especially courses related to business, management, supply chain, logistics, analytics, operations, manufacturing engineering, or economics)

Work experience: internships, part-time jobs, or full-time work (especially if related to the above fields), with brief descriptions of responsibilities and accomplishments

Volunteer experience, campus involvement, leadership roles, extracurricular activities (e.g., clubs, student organizations, community service, projects)

Skills relevant to the field (e.g., data analysis, supply-chain software/tools, logistics knowledge, project management, leadership, communication, etc.)

Any awards, honors, or recognitions (scholastic, extracurricular, work-related)
Letter of Application
Maximum 2 pages covering:

Includes your contact information

Introduces yourself and your academic pathway (school, major, planned graduation)

Explains your interest in supply chain, logistics, manufacturing, analytics, or related field, and why you want to build a career in that domain socalcscmp.org

Highlight your relevant academic, work, volunteer, or extracurricular experiences that demonstrate commitment, initiative, leadership, teamwork, or other qualities pertinent to supply-chain careers and connects your past experiences or achievements to your future goals.

Explains how the scholarship will help you progress academically and professionally (e.g., allow participation in events, shorten financial burden, enable internships, support skill development)

Optionally, reflects on obstacles or challenges overcome (if relevant), showing perseverance, resilience, and motivation

Maintains a formal, clear tone; avoids slang; is well-organized and proofread carefully (grammar, spelling, structure).
Letter of Recommendation
Must be forwarded directly by the recommender on official letterhead from someone who knows you well, such as a professor, employer, supervisor, or volunteer coordinator.

Identify the recommender and their relationship to you (how long, in what context: class, work, project, volunteer, etc.)

Describe qualities, strengths, and character traits of the applicant that make you well-suited for the scholarship and a future in supply chain (e.g., leadership, initiative, teamwork, analytical skills, problem-solving, reliability, professionalism) with concrete examples and anecdotes

Reference specific instances when/where you demonstrated those qualities: e.g., success in coursework, performance in a project or internship, leadership in group settings, volunteer work, initiative under pressure, growth over time

Include a clear endorsement, explaining why you are a good fit for the scholarship and how you are likely to succeed in your field or your studies

Provide their contact information for follow-up if needed.
